Founded in 1891 when Old Tom routed the initial course, the club has hosted several prestigious professional and amateur tournament, as well as hosting Open Qualifying on four occasions, and we are proud to be hosting the English Amateur Championship in 2025 in partnership with Royal Liverpool.
We are also proud to be the Home of Stableford where Wallasey member Dr Frank Stableford, came up with the scoring system that would take his name and become popular around the world for decades to come. Only a year earlier, Bobby jones would qualify for The Open Championship at Wallasey and Hoylake, before lifting the Claret Jug on his way to completing the legendary Grand Slam.
In recent years we have embarked on an ambitious course plan which has seen bunkers remodelled, green sites and surrounds reimagined and significant investment in the condition of the links which allow the links at Wallasey to truly shine.
